My Life In Pictures: I'm ENGAGED!!!

This morning Mike & I were scheduled to go on a tour of the White House. We decided to make a day of it and get all glammed up. Mike just got an internship at the Administrative Offices of the US Courts, which is literally right next to Union Station so, this morning we headed out early and had breakfast at Union Station and Mike surprised me and proposed after breakfast!!! We had been joking around about doing it in the White House but then this morning he "acted" freaked out about doing that and that he didn't want to bring the ring to the White House in case they took it away in security, etc. etc. I even saw him "hide" the ring (turns out the box was empty!). We found some on-lookers at Union Station to take our pic and then we made our way to the White House. After the White House we went to the new MLK monument and sat next to the tidal pool. For dinner we went to the Tortilla Factory, one of our favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurants.

Funny side story.... so Mike & I want to keep it kind of quiet for awhile before we change everything on facebook, etc. so I just got off the phone with mom & dad when Katelyn (my roomie from undergrad) called. I was like, "How the HECK did she find out already?!?! We've hardly even told anyone!!" So, I answer the phone and she says, "Hey!! How's it goin?" I'm like, "Good! How are you?" and she gets all giggly and says, 'I"M ENGAGED!!!" and I say, "ME TOO!!!!" hahaha WHAT ARE THE CHANCES we would get engaged on the SAME day?!?! hahaha Too too funny!

Anyways, that's the rather abridged version. We didn't get a ton of pics since we were going to the White House and couldn't bring cameras and stuff, but here's a look at the ones we did get on our phones! Enjoy!
